South Bay Christian School is proud to offer education to students with an I-20 student visa, a service that few schools in the South Bay provide. For more information regarding enrollment requirements and tuition fees, please contact our office.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year for I-20 students. If you are interested, please reach out to our Director of Marketing and Development, Francey Marzicola, at fmarzicola@sbchristian.com.
At SBCS, we welcome qualified students with I-20 student visas and require them to attend an orientation before joining classes. This orientation includes an explanation of academic and handbook expectations. All students must also undergo testing for Reading, Language, and Math skills before enrolling.
If a student tests at the Advanced ELD level for Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, they will be placed in the regular classroom with the same expectations as English-speaking students. Students who test lower will be graded according to the ELD Standards of Beginner, Early Intermediate, Intermediate, Early Advanced, or Advanced, based on their performance in the above categories for content classes. Students may progress through these levels as quickly as possible, with their performance being tested every grading period until they reach the Advanced Level.
Our placement process follows a detailed list of standards to ensure that students are placed in the appropriate level.
In addition, we offer a study program for international students during their winter break season, which lasts four to eight weeks.
